Construction & Fabrics

Fabric Qualities

At House of Vinterberg, every suit begins with a principle: nature knows best.
We work exclusively with Natural fibers – Wool, Virgin Wool, Merino Wool, and Cashmere. Because we believe true luxury is not just seen, but felt.
These materials breathe with you, move with you, and age with grace. They regulate temperature naturally, resist odors, and drape with an elegance that synthetic fabrics simply can’t replicate.
These are not just fabrics; they are living materials that respond to your body and environment, offering comfort and sophistication in equal measure.

Polyester's Hidden Costs

In contrast, polyester suits – often marketed as “easy-care” or “budget-friendly” – come at a hidden cost.
They trap heat, resist breathability, and lack the graceful aging of natural fibers.
Over time, they lose their shape, sheen, and soul. For us, that’s not a compromise worth making.

We invite you to feel the difference.

Full Canvas - Handmade

Our full canvas handmade make is the choice of traditionalists, those who appreciate craftsmanship through delivering the best quality product.

Notable handwork details include multiple canvas layers from shoulder to hem, pick stitching, buttonholes, collar attachment, lining armhole, lining shoulder seam, chest pocket, and your brand label attachment.

Full Canvas

This construction incorporates multiple layers of canvas from shoulder to jacket hem, and requires little interlining.

Made using varying compositions of natural fibres, the canvas gradually moulds to the wearer over time, resulting in the jacket feeling natural to the wearer. The drape and longevity is unrivalled, and certainly something worth experiencing.

Half Canvas

The traditional half canvas construction incorporates multiple layers of canvas from the shoulder down through the chest, lapels, and finishes at the top button point.

Half canvas jackets strike a desirable balance when compared to other makes – Better structure and shape than fused, whilst remaining lighter and less structured than full canvas.

Unconstructed

The unconstructed make is an excellent option for customers seeking something much less structured and relaxed to wear.

In this make, the main chest canvas is removed, leaving only a small canvas piece in the shoulder area to ensure a clean appearance through the shoulder line and upper area of the jacket. This make is always constructed in combination with no shoulder padding.
